Details of the tour

We will pick you up at your accommodation between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m., heading to the Atacama Desert, more specifically to the Chaxa Lagoon, a place of spectacular beauty that is divided into several water mirrors. Besides, we might see flamingos!

Next, we will go to the viewpoint of Piedras Rojas, one of the most impressive places in Chile. The oxidation of the rocks in the altiplano has created a reddish environment that seems to be the fruit of our imagination. A unique landscape in the whole world!

We will leave the belvedere behind and head towards the Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons, a blue oasis in the middle of an extensive arid plain in the Chilean altiplano. We will walk along the stream of these twin lagoons and over the portion of land that separates them, a vestige of an eruption of the Miñiques volcano that integrates with them.

Finally, we will go to Toconao, an indigenous village characterized by its white houses. During our visit, we will get to know the history and traditions of the toconares and we will get to know the church of San Lucas and its belfry, which originated in the 18th century and were even declared national monuments.

We will finish our tour by returning to our hotel in San Pedro de Atacama around 6:00pm.
